Who We Are.

Hardware Hacks is brought to you by KCL Electronics & KCL Robotics societies.

KCL Electronics

is a thriving community of over 100 makers, builders and creatives. Recent projects include National and International competitions such as the European Rover Challenge and a selective FPGA workshop sponsored by Jane Street.

KCL Robotics

is an innovative community of 80+ robotics enthusiasts. We host weekly technical workshops, socials and industry events, including London's first student led robotics panel with 300+ attendees and speakers from Shadow Robot, NextGenRi and current sponsor, ARIA.

No Slides. No Figma. No Waffle.

Over 24 hours, teams will design, prototype and demo real, physical systems.

If it doesn't plug in, move, sense, or interact with the physical world... IT DOESN'T QUALIFY.

Dithered hardware and electronics

24 Hours.
Real Hardware.
Beyond the Screen.

Teams will be given a household appliance. They must reverse-engineer, strip and scavenge its components to build an interesting invention, all within a time limit.

Micro-controllers, 3D printers, fabrication tools, refreshments and much more are available at your disposal.

All we need is you and your creativity.
